Jerarquía holística de las dificultades asociadas a las estrategias aditivas de cálculo mental

En el presente trabajo de investigación se da un procedimiento para obtener una jerarquía holística de las difi cultades asociadas a las estrategias aditivas de cálculo mental. Este procedimiento se basa en las actividades básicas de cálculo que determinan la estrategia, y con él se establece una clasifi cación de tipo holístico de las difi cultades de cálculo asociadas a dichas estrategias. El artículo termina enunciando las conclusiones del trabajo y señalando un par de problemas abiertos.This work of research describes a procedure of building a holistic ranking of diffi culties associated to the additive strategies of mental calculus. This procedure is based upon calculus basic activities which determine the strategy, and, through it, we establish a holistic classifi cation of the difficulties of calculus associated to those strategies. This paper ends up by stating the conclusions and pointing out a couple of open problems

Programa multimedia de desarrollo de capacidades en alumnos del Primer Ciclo de Educación Primaria

In this study we examine the theoretical and practical effects of Supermat, a neuropsychologically- based multimedia software program treating cognitive intervention, whose primary objectives with regard to capabilities development can be abridged as the following: development of spatial orientation, perception, memory and attention. To measure the results of our project, we utilized a sample group consisting of 56 informants from the initial two levels of primary education. Of these, 27 formed our control group while the remaining 29 comprised the test set. The latter were exposed to our focus multimedia program on a daily basis over a two-year span. In line with current studies of this type, the role of the educator as mediator was crucial to the program’s progress. One of the upshots of our research is that we are able to evaluate the multimedia program’s efficacy with specific regard to capability development from not only a psychopedagogical and didactic framework, but from a neuropsychophysiological foundation as well. The results of our research are encouraging and provoke us to further ponder innovative ways to tighten the gap between the contemporary neuroscience data and practical pedagogical practices.En este trabajo se reflejan los aspectos, tanto teóricos como prácticos, que envuelven a Supermat, programa de intervención cognitiva con base neuropsicológica y soporte informático, cuyos objetivos por capacidades pueden resumirse así: desarrollar la orientación espacial, la percepción, la memoria y la atención. Utilizamos una muestra de 56 sujetos, alumnos del Primer Ciclo de Educación Primaria. De ellos, 27 formaron el grupo control y otros 29 el grupo experimental. Estos últimos, diariamente y durante dos cursos escolares, utilizaron el programa Supermat. La figura del profesor como mediador fue fundamental durante todo el desarrollo del programa. Con este trabajo se evalúa, por primera vez, un programa con soporte informático de desarrollo de capacidades con una base, además de psicopedagógica y didáctica, neuropsicofisiológica. Los resultados obtenidos son esperanzadores en cuanto a la aproximación del mundo de la neurociencia a la práctica diaria de la educación

Purification of Starch Granules from Arabidopsis Leaves and Determination of Granule-Bound Starch Synthase Activity

Starch constitutes the most important carbon reserve in plants and is composed of branched amylopectin and linear amylose. The latter is synthesized exclusively by the Granule-Bound Starch Synthase (GBSS, EC 2.4.1.21). Here we report a readily reproducible, specific and highly sensitive protocol, which includes the isolation of intact starch granules from Arabidopsis thaliana leaves and the subsequent determination of GBSS activity. [ES] El proyecto describe a través de un breve documental y una serie de diez cuadros el antes y el después del sector vitivinícola en la zona de La Mancha, concretamente en el pueblo de Tomelloso (Ciudad Real). Con ello se muestra lo que todavía perdura de la tradición contrastado con los grandes cambios técnicos que se acusan hasta el presente. De esos diez cuadros, se dividen dos bloques de cinco cada uno, el primero, pinturas de fotografías en blanco y negro de los años 40 comparadas con otras del 2018. El material audiovisual al igual que cada pareja de obras pictóricas, guardan un tema entre los que encontramos: (I) la cuadrilla (cómo la mano de obra pasa de ser familiar a jornaleros de otras zonas de España o inmigrantes en su mayoría) ; (II) logística y transporte de la materia prima (la fuerza de trabajo animal y manual es sustituida por tractores o máquinas cosechadoras); (III) el papel de la mujer en el campo (las terreras que trabajaban codo con codo con los hombres para cavar las bodegas y que en la actualidad se ha visto sustituido por mano de obra masculina en su mayoría); (IV) los avances tecnológicos (grandes macrocooperativas de gran especialización tecnológica); y (V) el folclore. Todo esto enfatizado con referencias a importantes personajes como el pintor Antonio López Torres, tío y mentor de Antonio López García, introduciéndolo en alguna escena o tomando los puntos de vista que utilizaba este personaje en su producción artística al aire libre.[EN] This project describes through a short documentary and a series of ten pictures taken from photographical references from family and relatives, the changes throughout time within the wine sector in La Mancha, specifically, the town of Tomelloso (Ciudad Real). This work shows that some of the traditions pervail despite the current great technical changes. These ten paintings are divided in two blocks of five pictures. On the first block, we can find black and white pictures inspired in 1940s photographs compared with current snapshots from 2018. The audiovisual material together with each pair of pictorial works have a particular theme, where we can find: (I) the cuadrilla, (how family labor disappears in favour of migrants from other regions of Spain or immigrants); (II) logistics and transportation of raw material (manual and animal workforce replaced by tractors and harvesters); (III) the role of women in fields and vineyards (las terreras, women that worked elbow-to-elbow with men to dig wine cellars. Nowadays these traditions has been replaced by a majority of male workforce); (IV) technological advances (great cooperatives with a high level of specialization); or (V) cultural traditions. All this highlighted by reference to cultural celebrities such as painter Antonio López Torres (Antonio López García¿s uncle and mentor), by introducing him in some scenes or capturing the artist point of view on his outdoors artistic production.Gutiérrez Ortiz, T. Mejoras Funcionales en personas mayores sanas tras entrenamientos de fuerza tradicional y fuerza-potencia. Revisión bibliográfica

La literatura ofrece varios artículos comparando los efectos funcionales en personas mayores sanas de un entrenamiento de fuerza tradicional (TRT) respecto a otro de fuerza-potencia (PT). El objetivo de esta revisión es realizar una búsqueda de estos artículos para exponer qué metodología de entrenamiento resulta más beneficiosa funcionalmente. Para ello, se ha llevado a cabo una búsqueda en Pubmed y tras 277 artículos encontrados se han seleccionado 6 que encajan en nuestros criterios: adultos mayores sanos, TRT comparado con PT, pre y post evaluación con test funcionales (SPPB, 8ft Time Up and Go (TUG), 30s sit-to-stand test). 3 estudios formados por hombres y mujeres, 2 estudios en los que solo participaron mujeres y 1 estudio en el que la muestra fueron solo hombres. 4 estudios mostraron mejoras funcionales producidas por PT respecto al grupo de TRT y en 2 de esos estudios eran mejoras significativas; 1 estudio en TUG y 30s sit-to-stand test y 1 estudio en TUG. 2 estudios arrojaron resultados que mostraban una mejora funcional de TRT respecto a PT. Las limitaciones más comentadas por los autores son las escasas muestras en algunos estudios dada la edad de los sujetos y su fragilidad. En todas las intervenciones hay sujetos que abandonan por diversos motivos el estudio (caídas, aneurisma aórtico, razones no relacionadas con el entrenamiento, razones personales, muertes,..)

Geoenvironmental Characterization of Sulfide Mine Tailings

Spain has a long mining tradition dating from pre-historic times up to the present day. The cessation of mining activity has generated a large amount of mine wastes, most of which represent geochemical hazards. Mine tailings are watery sludge composed of medium-to-fine-grained material, resulting from grinding and mineral processing (e.g., galena, pyrite, sphalerite, and arsenopyrite). They entail both an accumulation and a potential subsequent emission source of trace elements (i.e. As, Cu, Fe, Pb, and Zn) with formation of acid mine drainage (AMD). Mineralogical and geochemical techniques (in combination with geophysical surveys and aerial photographs studies) have been jointly applied to selected mine areas. Seven mine deposits from the most important mine districts in Spain have been selected: Iberian Pyrite Belt, Cartagena-La Unión, Alcudia Valley, and Mazarrón. The main goal is focused on getting a geoenvironmental characterization as complete as possible by determining the geometry, evolution in time and composition of mine ponds, and the possible occurrence of AMD, for identifying related environmental hazards

Contact mechanics applied to the machining of thin rings

Precision machining of thin rings is of key importance in the performance of many mechanical components such as bearings, rings, turbines, etc. An important factor to take into account is to know the influence of the clamping forces values at different angular positions of the workpiece in the geometrical tolerances after machining. The lower the clamping force, better tolerances will be achieved, but with the disadvantage of reducing friction force and, therefore, increasing the risk of slipping. Therefore, achieving a minimum but safe clamping force is a key factor to control the process. This paper presents some contributions of contact mechanics to the determination of an optimum clamping force. A subsequent methodology is applied that takes into account model of bulk deformation and local contact stresses and experimental data with the object of obtain the optimum torque applied to the chuck.The authors would like to thank the Basque Government for supporting this work made under the ETORTEK Program within the MARGUNE CRC framework while the first author was a visiting professor at TECNUN
